Wage/Salary Range: $115k - $130k

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership- Promote a proactive safety culture across every project.
- Review all project team and subcontractor site specific and activity specific safety plans.
- Ensure subcontractors' project-specific safety plans comply with OSHA and USACE (EM385-1-1) requirements.
- Coordinate directly with the project team and government safety representative for safety-related project tasks.
- Participate in all regular meetings with contractors and government representatives, leading all safety related discussions and topics.
- Perform and document daily and regularly scheduled safety inspections of the project site and each trade's work and work area.
- Coordinate with the project management team for the development of the site-specific safety training for all employees on the site, ensuring all relevant safety topics, OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements are met.
- Provide site-specific initial safety training for all employees working on the project site.
- Coordinate with project QCM for documentation and reporting of exposure hours.
- Continually monitor safety and immediately address unsafe conditions.
- Lead by example through consistent safe work practices and accountability.
Quality Control- Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, UFC requirements, and contract documents.
- Review construction safety submittals for compliance with EM 385-1-1 codes, OSHA, project specifications and drawings.
Field Leadership- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project safety, schedule and productivity.
- Participate in regular site meetings and communicate project expectations to all trades and government representatives.
- Maintain a professional and productive jobsite culture.
Project Execution- Monitor construction progress and proactively identify potential safety impacts before they become problems.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with subcontractors.
- Support successful project turnover and closeout activities.
Client Relationships- Serve as a trusted field representative for BSNC.
- Build positive working relationships with Owners, Contracting Officers, CORs, Quality Assurance personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions professionally and proactively.
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications - Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
- Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Construction Safety Manager on commercial or federal construction projects.
- Required qualifications for hire:
- Experience managing safety on federal construction projects for agencies such as USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, GSA, or similar federal customers.
- Valid OSHA 30 Training (or higher)
- Valid EM 385-1-1 training certificate
- Working knowledge of government safety requirements, EM 385-1-1 and OSHA
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades.
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems including architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Valid Driver's License.
- S. Citizenship.
- Fluent in English; speaking, reading and writing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal and military installations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficient in Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software

Preferred - USACE/NAVFAC QCM Certificate
- Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Experience working within an SBA 8(a) federal contracting environment.
- Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Experience managing occupied renovations and secure government facilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities- This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.
DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements - This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.

Must be able to lift approximately 40lbs alone. Must be able to spend extended periods of time (up to 2-4 hours) on your feet or walking around a project site, potentially on uneven surfaces or within areas actively in construction. Must be able to get to the project site on time, and under your own means of transportation, this includes to secure government facilities, through access control points.

Physical Setting: Work locations will vary depending on project locations, all project operations are based out of our Hanover, MD office. Project sites include locations in the greater Baltimore and DC-Metro areas. Employees are expected to transport themselves to and from project sites, or the main office on a daily basis.
Schedule and Flexibility: Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, start times vary depending on the project from roughly 6:00am to 8:00am and typically end between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Employees are expected to be punctual and willing to work at the project site for the duration of the onsite work hours. Please note availability for overnight work or work beyond normal working hours.

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background investigation, pre-employment drug screening, and obtaining access to applicable federal or military installations.
