Construction Project Manager - Data Center Projects
Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all phases of data center construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards while coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
• Manage all aspects of data center construction projects, including site development, building construction, MEP systems, and commissioning activities
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
Coordinate project activities with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and delays
• Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
Budget & Cost Control
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
• Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and purchase requests
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and schedule requirements
• Track project expenditures and ensure financial objectives are achieved
Contract Administration
• Manage contractor and subcontractor procurement processes
• Review contracts, scopes of work, and technical specifications
• Negotiate change orders and resolve contract-related issues
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements
Data Center Infrastructure Oversight
• Oversee installation and integration of critical facility systems including:
• Electrical distribution systems
• UPS systems
• Generators
• Switchgear
• HVAC and cooling systems
• Fire protection systems
• Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Security and access control systems
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and startup activities for mission-critical infrastructure
Safety & Quality Management
• Promote and enforce site safety programs and OSHA compliance
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards
• Monitor quality assurance and quality control processes
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
• Risk Management
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
Manage project issues, RFIs, submittals, and change management processes
Resolve construction conflicts and technical challenges in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• 7-15+ years of construction project management experience
• 3-5+ years managing mission-critical or data center construction projects
• Proven experience managing projects valued at $20M-$500M+
• Strong understanding of:
• Data center design and construction
• Critical electrical systems

• Commissioning processes
• Construction scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
• BIM and construction management platforms

Pay Range
USD $120,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.

• Concurrent construction of multiple data center campuses
