Construction Manager
We are seeking an experienced operational leader to join us as a Construction Manager to maintain our high standards of excellence as we scale, to lead our team of New Home Superintendents, and to oversee the successful execution of residential construction projects throughout our communities.
The Construction Manager we are looking for will:
- Thrive on developing people, improving processes, and delivering exceptional homes and customer experiences.
- Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Estimating, Warranty, and Regional General Manager.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the high standards our homeowners expect as we continue to scale.
Key Competencies & Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Talent Development (Focus areas: Humble & Helpful)
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of New Home Superintendents, mapping out clear pathways for their professional growth.
- Drive accountability in the field by establishing clear operational metrics, spearheading the hiring/onboarding of field staff, and managing ongoing performance.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence rooted in cross-functional collaboration, open communication, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence & Schedule Management (Focus area: Aware)
- Architect and oversee master production schedules to guarantee the predictable, on-time delivery of homes across multiple active communities simultaneously.
- Refine building workflows by standardizing field procedures, eliminating cycle-time bottlenecks, and optimizing daily production logistics.
- Execute rigorous job-site inspections through regular field visits to proactively audit construction progression, support safety compliance, and maintain schedule milestones, all of which ensure consistent quality construction across all active communities.
Quality Assurance & Customer Experience (Focus area: Driven)
- Enforce strict quality benchmarks across all residential projects to minimize rework, ensure structural integrity, and uphold the Yingst Difference.
- Elevate homeowner satisfaction scores by collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance and ensure a top-tier customer experience.
- Resolve escalation-level field issues, supporting Superintendents when navigating complex construction challenges and sensitive customer situations.
Financial Management & Strategic Partnering (Focus areas: Aware & Helpful)
- Monitor production job costs and variances, proactively identifying and executing strategies to reduce material waste, control overhead, and improve project profitability.
- Strengthen trade partner networks by collaborating with Purchasing and trade partners to improve scheduling and execution timelines.
Successful Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership footprint in production residential construction, with direct experience managing or mentoring construction professionals.
- Multi-site management mastery, with a demonstrated ability to orchestrate operations across multiple geographic communities simultaneously.
- Expert-level knowledge of residential building practices, building codes, scheduling logic, and budget variance controls.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a track record of resolving conflicts, aligning trade partners, and communicating across all levels of an organization.
- Tech-forward mindset, maintaining proficiency with construction management software platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of residential construction experience, including progressive leadership and site management responsibilities.
- People Management: Minimum of 3 years of experience managing, supervising, or mentoring construction professionals and field staff.
- Track Record: Proven success leading multiple residential construction projects simultaneously while delivering large-scale production home builds safely, on schedule, and within margin parameters.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and quality control.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Trade Partners: Experience managing trade partner performance and resolving field-related construction issues.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable to performance and timeline targets utilizing effective communication, conflict resolution and organizational skills.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of building codes, safety requirements, and residential construction best practices.
- Travel: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to regularly travel across our footprint between various jobsites.
