Location: Midland, Texas, with field travel
Directly Reports To: Manager, Construction Management
Position SummaryThe Construction Manager represents Priority Power on active power delivery and generation project sites, including substation, transmission, distribution, and solar work, often inside industrial facilities with multiple contractors. You own how the field executes: safe work, quality, documentation, and compliance with drawings and specifications. Project priorities come from the Project Manager; standards, development, and conduct come from Construction Management.
Key Responsibilities - Lead safely. Observe work, identify hazards, review JSA, Pre-Task Analysis, and Task Safety Observation records, run tailgate meetings, and use stop-work authority without hesitation.
- Inspect and control quality. Verify work against approved drawings, specifications, and codes. Document non-compliant work with forms and photos, and drive punch list closure.
- Run the site. Plan and observe construction, coordinate contractors, and represent Priority Power in site coordination meetings.
- Keep the record in Procore. Complete daily reports, inspections, RFIs, photos, and punch lists on time and accurately. Manage as-built redlines so the final record set is complete.
- Control materials. Confirm deliveries, verify they meet specification and are properly stored, and give contractors current drawing revisions.
- Support commissioning. Witness equipment setting and alignment, and walk down systems before, during, and after testing through restoration sign-off.
- Protect the commercial position. Track compliance with contracts and permits, verify contractor and supplier invoices, and support change orders.
- Communicate and escalate. Report progress and safety to the Project Manager and client, respond to RFIs with engineering input, and flag engineering errors early. When schedule pressure conflicts with safe, buildable work, say so clearly and bring options.
