Full Job Description
HGA is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to provide Owner's Engineer (OE) support on a portfolio of combined cycle (CT/CCGT) power generation projects in Chalk, Texas. Projects are currently in both engineering and construction phases, requiring strong field execution oversight and coordination with the EPC contractor. This role will focus on construction execution, field coordination, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Construction Management (CM) across a portfolio of 5 combined-cycle power projects in Chalk, TX
  • Act as Owner's representative on-site, ensuring EPC contractor (Kiewit) performance aligns with project objectives
  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities, including:

    • Site coordination and contractor management
    • Work sequencing and constructability
  • Monitor and report on:

    • Project schedule progress and key milestones
    • Cost performance and forecasting in coordination with project controls
  • Support and enforce:

    • Change management and change order review processes
    • Risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Participate in and support:

    • Engineering and design reviews from a construction perspective
    • Constructability assessments and field-driven input
  • Ensure compliance with:

    • Safety standards and site-specific protocols
    • Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) requirements
  • Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on construction progress, risks, and issues
Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager on power generation or large industrial projects
  • Strong background in combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) or simple cycle (CT) projects preferred
  • Direct experience supporting EPC project execution in an Owner's Engineer or similar oversight role
  • Demonstrated expertise in:

    • Field construction management
    • Contractor coordination and oversight
    • Cost and schedule tracking in a construction environment
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and project phases simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred
  • Candidates with relevant experience in petrochemical or similar large-scale industrial construction environments may be considered in lieu of direct power generation experience.
  • Field-based role with travel required across project sites
  • Presence on-site during active construction phases is expected
  • May require extended periods at project locations depending on phase
