Construction Manager

Department: Data Center and Power Infrastructure

Location: East Texas / project dependent (primarily onsite during active construction)

Role Type: Full-time

Job Description
This role represents the owner in construction planning and field execution, ensuring contractors deliver the campus safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design, quality, and commissioning requirements. The Construction Manager / Owner's Representative will be the primary onsite owner presence, reviewing contractor plans, schedules, staffing, and safety programs while coordinating across EPC/GC, design, utility, and specialty contractor teams. The ideal candidate has led construction on large, complex, mission-critical or industrial programs and is comfortable operating as the owner's voice on-site through active construction and turnover.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review contractor plans, schedules, logistics, staffing, safety programs, quality plans, and construction work packages
  • Coordinate owner, EPC/GC, designers, utility representatives, equipment vendors, and specialty contractors
  • Monitor site progress, productivity, constraints, RFIs, submittals, changes, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Lead owner field meetings, progress walks, look-ahead reviews, and issue-resolution sessions
  • Verify work aligns with contract documents, approved design, AHJ requirements, and turnover standards
  • Manage interfaces among site/civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, controls, telecom, and commissioning teams
  • Support commercial review of change orders, pay applications, claims, and recovery schedules
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and stop or escalate unsafe or nonconforming work

Required Experience/Skills

  • 10+ years in construction management on data centers, power plants, utilities, semiconductor, or major industrial facilities
  • Experience acting as an owner's representative or senior GC/EPC construction leader
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, MEP coordination, QA/QC, safety, and turnover
  • Ability to work primarily onsite at the East Texas project site during active construction

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience on projects exceeding $250 million
  • Direct experience with high-voltage substations, generation, or utility interconnection
  • Experience with phased turnover into an operating mission-critical environment
  • CCM, PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent credential
