Range: $80K - 100KJob summary: Seeking a team player to join our Geotechnical Group as a
Construction Engineer. Must be motivated to learn and develop in a deep foundation, design build specialty group. Experience in structural and/or geotechnical engineering to aid in project management for completion. Will provide assistance to Project Managers on design/build projects as well as support engineering team conducting geotechnical engineering evaluations that include deep foundations, retaining wall systems etc. Looking to bring on someone motivated to learn and develop in a specialized design build construction firm. Proficient with computer programs (Excel, AutoCAD, Microsoft). Capable of working independently.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred, with experience in Geotechnical and Heavy Civil a plus; Construction Management considered
- Familiar with foundations, bridge construction, temporary shoring, retaining walls, and all other highway construction scopes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
Essential Functions: - Support engineering team conducting Geotechnical, Civil & Structural engineering evaluation that includes design foundations and retaining wall systems (temporary and permanent)
- Engineering and Drawing preparation
- Willing to assist project manager on related project requirement (QA/QC, maintaining productivity records, evaluating and/or tracking project cost and performance of the engineering system).
- Helps to coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and superintendents to ensure that the project is built per plan.
- Order materials / tools required for the job, track quantities, run production reports and review with field crews.
- Review and approve shop drawings, draft RFIs and assist with submittals.
- Provides technical information to company supervisor and contractors to ensure work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
- Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field construction problems, discrepancies, or interferences with contractors.
- Provides interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors or craft supervision
Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions: - Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
- Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work day.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work day.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
- Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
