  • Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Oversee the execution of the subcontractor Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). Perform routine field inspections against project drawings and specs, manage quality check-sheets, develop and track non-conformance reports (NCRs), and ensure corrective and preventive actions are resolved quickly by subcontractors.
  • Contractor & Field Activity Coordination: Oversee weekly construction planning activities on-site to identify spatial conflicts and ensure work progresses safely according to the project execution plan. Participate in construction planning meetings for critical construction activities. Technical support processing field RFIs, redline drawing verification, tracking submittals against site progress. Monitoring SIMOPS against approved plans.
  • Material & Delivery Verification: Inspect incoming power generation equipment and materials on-site for damage, verify documentation, and oversee proper storage, preservation, and handling compliance.
  • Progress Tracking & Turn-Over: Maintain daily construction logs, verify completed work quantities for subcontractor progress billings, assist with punch-list inspections, and assemble final safety, operations, and quality turnover packages prior to commissioning.

How you will stand out
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering Technology, or a relevant Journeyman Trade Certificate (Electrical, Mechanical, or Pipefitting preferred).
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of field-based industrial construction experience in Alberta, with direct exposure to safety management and QA/QC procedures on power, heavy industrial, or oil & gas sites.
  • Certifications: CSO (Common Safety Orientation) / CSTS-20, Standard First Aid, and formal training in Hazard Identification or QA/QC practices. CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or National Safety Officer (NCSO) designation is a strong asset.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of field safety practices, quality inspection protocols, and basic scheduling tools (MS Project or Procore); ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs and single-line diagrams.
