Full Job Description
Configuration Manager
The Opportunity:
As a Configuration Manager, you'll lead and improve configuration management (CM) across an integrated set of simulation hardware, modeling components, and networked training systems. These systems support high-fidelity rehearsals and large-scale exercises for military units. You'll make sure configurations stay intact, baselines stay controlled, and changes follow a disciplined process across local and geographically dispersed systems for the full product lifecycle. You'll own the CM plan, manage hardware and system baselines, run the CM board, maintain accurate configuration status accounting, and lead configuration audits.
In this role, you'll develop and enforce CM processes and keep configurations under control. You'll find deficiencies and put corrective actions in place. You'll also track software licensing and versions across the simulation enterprise so that entitlements stay compliant and releases stay controlled. You'll work closely with multi-disciplinary engineers and program leadership to build configuration discipline into every phase of sustainment and upgrades. You'll also represent the program's configuration changes to the broader requirements review board. You'll present proposed changes, explain their impact on cost, schedule, and capability, and keep approved requirements tied to controlled baselines.
You'll be a key member of a multidisciplinary engineering team that values clear communication, process discipline, adaptability, and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
You Have:
Experience establishing and maintaining processes such as CM plans
Experience managing change control, including Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Deviation (RFDs), Requests for Waiver (RFWs), and baseline updates
Experience with common CM tools and IT asset tools such as Jira or SnipeIT
Experience monitoring software licensing, entitlement, and version control across enterprise systems
Knowledge of enterprise CM, hardware baselining, technical documentation, and lifecycle replacement processes
Ability to read, interpret, and develop technical diagrams, system architecture drawings, and configuration documentation
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
TS/SCI clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
Experience conducting Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
Experience with hardware validation, regression testing, or release acceptance for new builds
Knowledge of SAE/EIA-649 and MIL-HDBK-61
Ability to mentor junior engineers and enforce engineering discipline across documentation, and planning
CM Certification such as CMII and CMPIC Certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
