Full Job Description
Maxtena has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Manager position at our headquarters in Germantown, MD. This is an on-site position that will be directly involved with the development, transition to manufacturing, and sustaining of a variety of antenna systems for the next generation of GPS, Satellite, and Terrestrial (5G, 4G, LTE) communication systems through ownership and oversight of technical data, test plans, test reports, analysis, and documentation. You will be instrumental in designing and manufacturing these innovative solutions to serve customers in fixed, aeronautical, land-mobile, and maritime domains.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this position, the Configuration Manager will be responsible for performing design and manufacturing data governance, product configuration management, engineering change management, and process improvement initiatives. You will utilize EDM tools for eCAD and mCAD document controls and oversee the parts release process within a PLM system. This position also requires strong interpersonal skills and some project management skills to lead a cross-functional engineering team through a formal product release. Document preparation and participation in design reviews will be required, as well as the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Plan and execute configuration management throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Be able to organize file structures and BOMs within an electronic filing system to maintain configuration integrity
  • Be able to help standardize templates and check documentation for accuracy and formatting standards
  • Skilled in product configuration definition and product BOM structure development.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation for all relevant products
  • Support quality system and product-focused efforts
  • Ensures the proper baseline identification and tracking of all configuration-controlled items, performs periodic audits, and provides verification of the formally released version of configuration-controlled items
  • Driving results through the development, implementation, and maintenance of rigorous processes, tools, schedules, and metrics
  • Maintains records to ensure that current and historical configurations of products can be accurately determined throughout the product lifecycle
  • Interact with Customers and Suppliers as needed to reconcile all data delivery records.
  • Review and update existing configuration management plans
  • Review and analyze engineering change request impact and coordinate changes with the engineering and other stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships and collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams, including engineers, vendors and customers


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering degree; In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of configuration management experience is acceptable
  • Strong engineering skills, with a detailed understanding of engineering drawings (Some experience with CAD drawings and tools is a plus)
  • Experience with electronic components and BOMs is a plus
  • Understanding of ISO-9001 requirements. Exposure to PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) is a plus
  • Some programming experience is a plus
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - must be able to provide feedback to engineers, and be comfortable pointing out errors and requesting changes
