Configuration Analyst - Tomahawk SWEF Lab Technical Support

Job Description:

JSL Technologies is seeking a Configuration Analyst to support the Surface Warfare Engineering Facility (SWEF) Tomahawk Weapon System labs at Port Hueneme, CA. This role is centered on configuration management and control across Tomahawk mission systems - tracking software loads, hardware/component configurations, password and credential controls, and periodic information assurance (IA) vulnerability updates - while also supporting the broader systems engineering, technical, and maintenance mission of the SWEF lab.

The Configuration Analyst will work hands-on with Tomahawk Mission Distribution System (MDS), Tomahawk Strike Network (TSN), Tomahawk Communications (TCOMMS) Tactical, Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), Mid-Range Capability (MRC), NAVSSI/AN-WSN-7, and GCCS-M, along with associated simulators and support equipment.

Core Roles & Responsibilities:

Configuration Management & Software Tracking
• Track and manage software loading, versioning, and configuration status across Tomahawk MDS, TSN, TCOMMS, TTWCS, MRC, NAVSSI/AN-WSN-7, and GCCS-M systems and associated simulators/support equipment.
• Maintain accurate, current configuration records for hardware, cabling, and associated components throughout installation, de-installation, and repair actions.
• Utilize DTIC (Defense Technical Information Center) resources to support technical documentation, reference materials, and configuration control.

Information Assurance & Security
• Manage password control processes, including periodic password updates in accordance with security policy.
• Track and apply IA vulnerability updates on a recurring, periodic basis to maintain system security posture.
• Perform proper handling, storage, safeguarding, and destruction of cryptographic (crypto) key material and equipment IAW current Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) policies.
• Report any existing or potentially hazardous and unsafe conditions to the SWEF lab manager.

Systems Maintenance & Lifecycle Support
• Operate, maintain, test, troubleshoot, install, de-install, embark, debark, move, and repair designated equipment, including hardware, cabling, and associated components.
• Perform cable fabrication and installation of connectors to support system interfaces as required for installation and repair actions.

Verification, Validation & Troubleshooting
• Replicate, test, and verify total system functionality prior to a planned installation or upgrade.
• Utilize test equipment (e.g., digital/analog multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum/network analyzers) to troubleshoot and identify system anomalies.

Training Support
• Demonstrate operation and maintenance procedures for equipment, systems, and hardware to Government-designated personnel.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of DTIC (Defense Technical Information Center) systems/resources for technical reference and documentation control.
• Experience with Naval Weapon Control System hardware, configuration control methodology, and maintenance processes (e.g., technical manuals, PMS).
• Functional knowledge of the Tomahawk Weapon System, including MDS, TSN, TCOMMS, and TTWCS.
• Experience with password control processes, including performing periodic password/credential updates on secure systems.
• Experience with software loading, configuration tracking, and version control of system components.
• Experience tracking and applying IA vulnerability updates on a periodic basis.
• In-depth diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance knowledge of Tomahawk Weapon Control Systems (MDS, TSN, TCOMMS).
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required U.S. Government security clearance for this position.

Desired Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) interfaces, including: U.S. Surface (VLS/AUR) and Submarine (WCS/AUR) launch interfaces; Navigation systems (NAVSSI/GPNTS, AN/WSN-7); Command & Control systems (GCCS-M 4.x, TMPC); Network systems (TSN, ISNS); and Communication systems (HF, VHF, UHF, EHF, DMR, LINK-16).
• Experience with Naval Weapon Control System hardware, configuration control methodology, and maintenance processes (e.g., technical manuals, PMS).
• Familiarity with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum/logic/network analyzers) for system troubleshooting.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government-granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.

Salary Description

$80,000-$85,000 yearly
