  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
  • Direct personnel and subcontractors in planning and execution of work
  • Negotiate change orders as necessary
  • Prepare and update monthly P3 schedules for all jobs
  • Track profit and loss and labor performance weekly

Overview

Directs activities of workers on mainline, slip-form concrete paving projects ranging in cost from zero to $100 million dollars by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Should possess a thorough working knowledge of a variety of Gomaco paving machines. May be designated to work away from home for extended periods according to project's needs.

Position Description

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices.
  • Read and understand plans, specifications and local building codes.
  • Schedules and documents all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
  • Comply with and document environmental permits and inspections.
  • Read and understand global project schedules and generate two-week construction schedules weekly.
  • Schedule and order materials, inspections and manpower in order to meet project schedules and specifications.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
  • Negotiate Change Orders
  • Prepare and update monthly a P3 scheduling for all jobs
  • Monthly tracking of profit and loss on all jobs
  • Weekly tracking of Labor performance on all jobs
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives / division manager.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college, technical school or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervising Concrete projects as a Project Manager
  • A minimum of 7+ years of concrete construction experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of heavy concrete construction.
  • 5+ years of experience of Portland Cement Concrete Paving (PCCP) field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Be a team player who is self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting tight, multiple, and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
