Full Job Description
You will be the Component Engineer on the Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control team. Our team ensures that every component used on Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control programs meets rigorous customer contract requirements and internal quality standards, from initial selection through final verification and failure analysis.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Component Engineer you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of EEEE components-selecting, qualifying, testing, and troubleshooting parts while driving documentation, supplier coordination, and issue resolution across the program. Your responsibilities will include:

- Researching component termination styles, plastic encapsulation styles and component construction processes and conduct trade studies and testing for new parts or obsolescence replacement parts.
- Generation of Vendor Identification Drawings, Source Control Drawings and Altered Item Drawings.
- Lead or support failure analysis, noncompliance investigations and mitigation of prohibited items (e.g., pure tin solder). Support Manufacturing and Quality engineers with technical issues, verification of handling procedures and part traceability.
- Coordinate with suppliers on new releases, road maps and end of life schedules, tracking component road maps.
- Process change notices/Change orders in PTC windchill for Part Bill of Materials & maintaining the engineering BOM in accordance with LM processes.
- Develop component qualification test plans and manage part qualifications with third party Test houses.
- Develop component screenings for parts as directed by Parts Management Process plan.
- Research and determine impact of PCN's and obsolescence on the programs.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Component Engineering or component-related experience
• Strong communication and technical writing skills with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with customers and cross-functional teammates.
• Proficient with product lifecycle tools such as Windchill PLM or agile or Teamcenter
• Active or current Secret clearance.

Desired Skills
• Experience supporting customer meetings to include the Parts, Materials and Processes Compliance Board (PMPCB).
• Good understanding of EEE parts performance requirements and specifications
• Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements, such as Mil-STD-883, Mil-STD-750, Mil-PRF-19500, Mil-PRF-38534, Mil-PRF-38535, Mil-PRF-123, Mil-PRF-55365, Mil-PRF-55342. Mil-PRF-55365.
• Experience with EEE parts testing, failure analysis, and non-conformance resolution
• Knowledge of circuit card and EEE Parts Material manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of engineering specification requirements and interpretations is desirable.
• Experience in participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
