Description and Requirements The Opportunity The Compliance Manager is a leader and an individual contributor responsible for providing compliance oversight and risk management support to MetLife Holdings (MLH), including Annuity, Life and Long-Tern Care products. This role serves as a trusted advisor to the business, delivering credible compliance challenge, supporting regulatory adherence, and contributing to the continuous enhancement of the control environment. The role requires strong independent judgment, effective influence skills, and the ability to manage complex regulatory matters in a dynamic business environment. This role will report to the AVP Head of MLH Compliance and will serve as a critical member of the Group Benefits and MLH Compliance team. Key Responsibilities - Cultivate trusted partnerships with MLH and Group Benefits business leaders and associates, serving as a strategic compliance advisor and risk management partner.
- Influence business strategy by actively engaging with key stakeholders to identify emerging risks, assess new product initiatives, and deliver proactive compliance guidance in response to evolving business models and regulatory developments.
- Execute risk-based testing and monitoring programs to evaluate control effectiveness, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend sustainable control enhancements.
- Drive continuous improvement in issue identification, escalation, and remediation processes to strengthen compliance risk management and control effectiveness.
- Assess, communicate, and escalate compliance risk exposures, control deficiencies, and assessment results to senior management, enabling informed decision-making and timely risk mitigation.
- Forge and strengthen cross-functional relationships with Legal, Operational Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Global Operations Risk Management to enhance risk oversight and governance effectiveness.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of insurance or financial services experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, Operations, and/or Internal Audit.
- Expertise advising and influencing business leaders on complex regulatory, compliance, and risk matters.
- Strong knowledge of insurance and financial services regulations, with ability to assess and implement regulatory changes.
- Experience identifying, testing, monitoring, and mitigating compliance risks while evaluating control effectiveness.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills, with a commitment to ethics, innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies, including AI.
Preferred Qualifications - Professional certifications, Series 6, 7, 24, 26 preferred
- Knowledge of Life and Annuity insurance products is preferred
- Experience with Company operations, systems, and transactions, or Company financial products and services a plus
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role
requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $93,200 - $124,000 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
