Full Job Description

As a Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you will play a critical role in bringing innovative fitness equipment to market by ensuring our Cardio and Strength products meet global safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Partnering closely with engineering, quality, and product development teams, you will help deliver high-performance, reliable solutions that exceed industry standards and support exceptional workout experiences worldwide. This role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about advancing product innovation responsibly.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure product compliance by collaborating with design teams: reviewing design data, identifying and resolving product and engineering design issues, and researching and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes.
  • Develop compliance plans for New Product Introduction programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, required internal and external resources, and equipment.
  • Determine compliance by witnessing tests, measuring, analyzing, and evaluating findings.
  • Document compliance by completing test requests, and approval applications; recording, analyzing, and summarizing test results; preparing Declarations of Conformity.
  • Analyze new products for safety-related risks and create Risk Assessment reports.
  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding new standards and regulations, participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations, reading professional publications, and maintaining compliance database.
  • Assist with managing external suppliers’ environmental compliance survey responses and ensure environmental compliance with RoHS, REACH, Prop 65, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support external product and process compliance auditors.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Product Safety, Certification Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering organization.
  • Experience with Product and/or Environmental Standards and Regulations.
  • Experience with New Product Development processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel /Office skills.

Preferred

  • Experienced with EMI / EMC testing: developing test plans, conducting testing, analyzing results, driving design changes based on results

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $81,000 - $117,400 annually.This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
