Compliance & Consulting, Senior Manager - ClassificationWhat you'll be doing This position is responsible for working with the Compliance and Consulting group in the United States. This position is focused on growth and gaining efficiencies of the department by putting in place the proper tools and automating the processes.

You will be responsible for- Monitor regulatory changes and updates department policies, legal framework, business models including operations business processes software applications.
- Work with senior management to identify compliance issues, customs regulatory changes and develop services accordingly by attending workshops and seminars.
- Drive the continuous improvement of the company's compliance and consulting department, including automating processes and procedures
- Work with the IT team to create working documents to update current or create new applications
- Develop and deliver client and prospect seminars, workshops and presentations on various customs and trade issues
- Identify and generate new business revenue annually for Compliance/the organization.
- Develop account set up procedures working with Operations to ensure compliance with Customs regulations
- Develop, design, write and co-ordinate publication of technical letters for external clients and prospects
- Lead and manage complex consulting engagements to the satisfaction of our customers
Leadership Responsibilities- Ability to manage a group of +20 employees
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
- Hire and Terminate employees
- Assign tasks to team members
- Assists with training and guidance of direct reports
- Monitor work volumes of direct reports
Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules
What we need from you- Bachelor's degree or diploma in business or related field.
- MBA is an asset but not required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in demonstrating progression within compliance and consulting roles.
- Licensed US Customs House Broker.
- Certified Export Specialist preferred.
- Excellent data manipulation skills combined with an advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Strong technical knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedules and Explanatory Notes.
- Superior verbal and written communication ability with advanced presentation skills.
- Ability to integrate into and subsequently lead a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and trust, including in dealing with complex and sensitive matters.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and offer solutions.
- Proven ability to sell and deliver company consulting services.
- Ability to lead advanced consulting engagements.
- Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
- Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX.
