Position Summary:
Researches, analyzes, and administers compensation and benefits programs. Maintains current, accurate job descriptions and records of job classification values. Monitors pay trends and talent market conditions. Benchmarks jobs for market competitiveness. Maintains compliance of compensation and benefit operations with ERISA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, EPA, INA and other state and federal laws and regulations. Supports employees with benefits education, enrollment, and utilization.
Responsibilities:
Acts to protect sensitive company and employee information at all times.
Evaluates new and existing positions by analyzing position duties and responsibilities to determine appropriate job classification values including compensation structure, market reference range, FLSA type, workers compensation category, TM flag, etc. Maintains job description inventory.
Manages the Annual Compensation Review process. Compiles and analyzes data received during review to ensure pay decisions comply with Company policy and relevant laws and regulations.
Drafts and coordinates employee communications about compensation, benefit, and retirement savings programs.
Responds to complex employee benefit issues and resolves or refers to appropriate parties for resolution.
May function as a liaison between the organization, benefits broker representatives, and third-party benefits providers.
Partners with HR team to ensure maintenance of compensation and benefit plans, validation tables, data feeds to vendors, etc.
Researches and analyzes industry trends and regulatory developments with respect to compensation & benefit programs.
Reviews and reports on benefit utilization and retirement savings plan participation.
Assists in development and delivery of employee education about benefit and retirement savings plans.
Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
Administers employee savings plans that may include the company's 401(k) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs.
Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
Researches and compares compensation and benefits plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses competitors' plans and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organization's plans competitive and effective.
Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
Conducts employee surveys, census, and other research and demographic efforts required to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers.
Identifies and selects carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience.
Monitors administrators' and insurance carriers' reports to ensure the organization's compliance with plan requirements.
Ensures the organization's and plans' compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures.
Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, general business, or related field or equivalent experience.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Experience:
Five years of compensation and/or benefits or relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
