DescriptionMarkon is seeking a Communications Support Officer to support an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, Virginia. This position will design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot secure communications solutions supporting operational personnel and mission requirements. The Communications Support Officer will combine hands-on technical expertise with user training and cross-functional collaboration to develop innovative communications solutions, integrate multiple technologies, and respond to evolving operational needs under tight timelines.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain secure communications systems supporting operational personnel.
- Configure and troubleshoot communications infrastructure spanning hardware, software, telecommunications, and network technologies.
- Deploy and support Secure Messaging Applications (SMAs) and two-factor authentication solutions.
- Configure and maintain VPN and secure remote-access solutions.
- Evaluate available communications technologies and services to identify solutions appropriate for operational requirements.
- Integrate multiple communications technologies and services to achieve unique network and connectivity requirements.
- Support cloud-based technologies and their integration with communications solutions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot telecommunications systems and applications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting communications hardware, software, and connectivity.
- Train users with varying levels of technical experience on telecom and secure communications applications.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to translate operational requirements into practical communications solutions.
- Research emerging technologies and communications trends to support evolving mission needs.
- Develop and implement innovative technical solutions within tight operational timelines.
Qualifications
Required:
- An active TS/SCI with FSP (Preferrably from this client) is required to be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree related to the technical discipline and at least 6 years of communications infrastructure support experience; OR
- Associate’s degree and at least 8 years of related experience; OR
- No degree and at least 10 years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience supporting communications infrastructure involving Linux, VPNs, two-factor authentication, hardware, software, and telecommunications technologies.
- Direct experience with Secure Messaging Applications (SMAs) and two-factor authentication.
- Experience configuring VPN solutions, evaluating commonly available services, and working with cloud technologies.
- Experience integrating multiple communications components to achieve specialized network and connectivity requirements.
- Experience maintaining telecommunications solutions and training diverse users on telecom applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace (G Suite).
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams and develop solutions within demanding timelines.
Desired:
- Experience developing applications or solutions for mobile platforms, including iOS and Android.
- Experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
Salary RangeUSD $120,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
