Gilbane is seeking a Commissioning Manager - Data Center to oversee the entire commissioning process to ensure data center systems and components function correctly before the facility goes live.
Responsibilities
- Manages all stages of commissioning process, from initial planning and design reviews to final testing and handover
- Creates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (like IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklists
- Ensures the facility and its systems comply with design specifications, health and safety standards, and performance requirements
- Acts as the main point of contact and manages communication between various teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Prepares and manages all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documents
- Performs and oversees various tests, such as functional testing and site acceptance testing, to verify system performance
- Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
- Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
- Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
- Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 10-12 years of data center commissioning experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of data center systems, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, and IT equipment
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, change orders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively
This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office. Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. The pay range is $98,880.00 - $211,970.00 plus benefits and retirement program plus benefits and retirement program.
