Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning process for a hyperscale construction project. The Commissioning Manager will ensure all building systems-mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and process equipment are properly designed, installed, tested, and functioning according to project requirements and industry standards. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless transition of projects from construction to fully operational status.
Responsibilities - Develop and Implement Commissioning Plans - Create and manage commissioning plans, checklists, and procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate with Stakeholders - Work closely with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure all systems are commissioned correctly and efficiently.
- System Testing & Validation - Oversee functional performance testing (FPT) for mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), controls, and process systems to verify proper operation.
- Issue Resolution - Identify, track, and resolve deficiencies and system performance issues before project handover.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance - Ensure commissioning activities align with industry standards (ASHRAE, LEED, SEMI, or project-specific requirements).
- Documentation & Reporting - Maintain detailed commissioning logs, issue logs, and prepare final reports for client approval.
- Training & Handover - Conduct training sessions and provide documentation to facility management teams for ongoing operations and maintenance.
Requirements
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in commissioning, construction management, or quality assurance within large-scale projects (e.g., semiconductor facilities, data centers, hospitals, commercial buildings).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and process systems.
- Experience working with commissioning software and tools.
- Understanding of LEED, ASHRAE, SEMI, or ISO standards is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required but Beneficial): - Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
- ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP)
- OSHA 30 Certification Work Environment & Travel:
Work Location/Travel Expectations Primarily on-site at construction projects, with some office work for reporting and documentation.
Travel may be required depending on project locations
