Full Job Description
Commercial Electrical Project Manager
Good Projects Don't Manage Themselves. Great People Make Them Happen.

You know the feeling when a project comes together. The field is moving. Materials are where they need to be. The GC knows they can count on you. Problems get handled before they turn into emergencies. And at the end of the job, everyone can look back and say, "That was a good project."

That's the kind of work we do at Teague Electric-and we're looking for a Commercial Electrical Project Manager who wants to help us do more of it.

We're not looking for someone to simply process paperwork and update schedules. We want someone who enjoys being involved, knows their projects inside and out, takes care of their field teams, and genuinely likes building relationships with customers.

If you're the kind of PM who takes ownership and gets satisfaction from seeing your team and your projects succeed, you may fit in very well here.
What Would Your Role Look Like?

When a project is handed to you, it's yours to lead.

You'll work directly with our field leadership to take the project from award through completion. That means understanding the scope, building the plan, staying ahead of manpower and material needs, watching the financials, communicating with the customer, and making sure your team has what they need to succeed.

Some days you'll be working through schedules and project financials. Other days you'll be solving a field issue, meeting with a GC, reviewing a change order, coordinating materials, or figuring out how to get ahead of something that could become a problem next week. That's construction.

And if you enjoy that combination of people, problem-solving, planning, and getting things done, you'll probably enjoy this role.
Your Field Team Matters

We believe one of the most important relationships a Project Manager has is with the people actually building the project. Our electricians and field leaders need a PM who communicates, plans ahead, listens, and follows through.

You'll work closely with them to:
  • Plan manpower and scheduling
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Make sure they have current information and drawings
  • Remove roadblocks that slow down production
  • Track labor and productivity
  • Work through changes and field conditions
  • Celebrate wins and address problems when they happen

We're looking for someone who understands that great project management makes the field better-and a strong field team makes the Project Manager successful.
Take Care of the Customer

Relationships have helped build Teague Electric for more than four decades, and they'll continue to be an important part of where we're going.

You'll be a primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and project partners. That means being responsive. Being straightforward. Following through. Having the difficult conversation when it's necessary. And looking for solutions instead of excuses.

We don't expect every project to go perfectly. Construction doesn't work that way. We do expect our customers to know that Teague is paying attention and we're going to work with them to get the job done.
Know Your Numbers

Being great with people is important-but this is still a business. You'll be responsible for the financial performance of your projects, including:
  • Project budgets and forecasts
  • Labor productivity
  • Purchasing and material costs
  • Change orders
  • Billing and project documentation
  • Cost-to-complete projections
  • Project profitability
  • Closeout and final billing

We want you to know where your project stands-not find out at the end. You'll have support from our accounting, purchasing, warehouse, estimating, and leadership teams, but you'll be the person connecting all those pieces.
Who Will Do Well Here?

We're less interested in creating a giant checklist of qualifications and more interested in finding the right person. You'll likely be successful at Teague if you're an experienced commercial Project Manager who:
  • Understands commercial electrical construction
  • Can read plans, specifications, contracts, and schedules
  • Understands how work actually gets built in the field
  • Knows how to manage labor, budgets, schedules, and profitability
  • Is comfortable working directly with general contractors and customers
  • Communicates well with both field and office teams
  • Doesn't wait until a small problem becomes a big one
  • Can manage several moving pieces without losing sight of the details
  • Takes responsibility for results
  • Enjoys being part of a team

Experience with project management software and a working knowledge of the NEC are expected. Knowledge of the Kansas City commercial construction market is a plus, and a Master Electrician license is preferred but not required.
Let's Talk About Compensation

We want experienced Project Managers-and we're prepared to compensate them accordingly.Base Salary: $90,000-$115,000

Base salary will depend on your experience, knowledge, and demonstrated ability to successfully manage commercial electrical projects. In addition to your base salary, you'll have opportunities to earn through commission and performance-based bonuses.

On-Target Earnings: $100,000-$140,000

Total on-target earnings include base salary, commission, and bonus opportunities.

You'll also receive all the good stuff:
  • Company vehicle
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid and voluntary life insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid time off
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Additional voluntary benefits
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities
Come Build With Us

Maybe you're doing well where you are. Maybe you're not actively looking. But maybe you're ready for a company where you can have a little more ownership, where your experience is valued, and where you can help shape what's next instead of simply managing what's already there.

That's what we're building at Teague. We're proud of our 45+ years in Kansas City, but we're much more interested in the next 45. And we need good people to help us get there.

If you're a Commercial Electrical Project Manager who takes pride in your projects, takes care of your people, and wants to be part of a company that's growing-let's have a conversation.
