A Snapshot of Your DayAs a Project Controller / Commercial Project Manager within Siemens Energy's Real Estate Finance organization, you will serve as a trusted finance business partner to the Real Estate project management organization, taking ownership of the financial execution and controlling of a dedicated portfolio of large-scale construction projects. You will work closely with Project Directors and cross-functional partners across Finance, Accounting, Operations, Procurement, and Legal to ensure projects are financially planned, accurately reported, and executed in line with approved business cases and strategic objectives.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, SAP project setup, cost recognition, month-end closing, and financial performance reporting. In this fast-paced environment, your ability to identify cost deviations, challenge assumptions, and translate complex financial information into clear recommendations will be critical to project success.
How You'll Make an Impact- Lead the financial execution and controlling of a dedicated portfolio of Real Estate construction projects, including annual budgeting, monthly and quarterly forecasting, cost recognition, actual reporting, CAPEX tracking, free cash flow, gross costs, depreciation, and overall financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner closely with Real Estate Project Directors and project management teams to prepare and evaluate investment approvals and business cases, including profitability analysis, proof of profitability, discounted cash flow calculations, scenario analysis, and financial recommendations to support strategic investment decisions.
- Establish and maintain accurate financial project structures in SAP, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), aligned with approved project budgets, schedules, and financial plans; develop project financial performance plans and ensure timely and accurate month-end project closing activities.
- Ensure the integrity and compliance of project books and records with IFRS, Local GAAP, and internal financial reporting guidelines, while maintaining strong internal controls and proactively identifying financial risks, cost deviations, and opportunities to improve forecast accuracy.
- Prepare and present clear, comprehensive project financial status reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and management updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, translating complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as a trusted finance business partner across the Real Estate organization, collaborating with Accounting, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and other Finance functions to resolve financial issues, improve processes, strengthen cost transparency, and drive continuous improvement across project controlling activities.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on professional experience in Finance, Controlling, Project Finance, or a related financial role, preferably supporting large-scale construction, real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other project-based environments.
- Strong experience with Financial Planning & Analysis and business case modeling, including preparation of investment approvals, profitability analysis, discounted cash flow calculations, annual budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and actual reporting for dedicated project portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Local GAAP, with demonstrated experience in Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E) and CAPEX accounting; familiarity with IFRS 16 lease accounting is preferred.
- Mandatory experience with SAP financial/project modules, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills; advanced English communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, challenge assumptions, and take a hands-on approach to complex financial issues while providing structure, accountability, and leadership in a dynamic environment.
