Position Function:

Primary Accountabilities:

Team Focused Leadership

  • Contribute to the Team by reflecting on past experiences to enhance timely, accurate and balanced credit decisions. Lead credit discussions and possess good negotiation and loan structuring skills. Primarily responsible for accuracy and clarity of all documents (i.e. CAMs, correspondence, loan docs, etc.). Communicate actively and effectively. Primarily responsible to the Team for driving and steering the request from origination to booking. Contribute to the development of Underwriters and Associates. Contribute to the Team by working well with other areas of the Bank.


Financial Results and/or Efficiencies

  • Primarily responsible to the Team for reaching or exceeding its financial goals. Responsible to the Team for growing the portfolio. Constantly seek opportunities and teach Underwriters and Associates how to seek opportunities with prompt follow through. Constantly seek efficiencies for the Team.
  • Senior:
    • Maintain secondary credit syndication portfolio at levels periodically established. Maintain and grow the Hawaii-based loan and deposit portfolio through participations with local financial institutions and/or direct acquisition of primary local business relationships.


Relationship Banking

  • Primarily responsible to the Team for building trust with clients. Be attentive, anticipate, over-deliver, communicate frequently and satisfy requests promptly. Negotiate prudently with good judgment. Primarily responsible to the Team for constantly seeking opportunities to surprise and delight clients. Contribute to the Team by being familiar with products and services offered by the Bank.


Risk Management/Compliance

  • Contribute to the Team by being aware of potential risks in the marketplace and industry. Contribute to the Team by educating and advising clients of potential risks. Contribute to the Team by understanding and observing policies and procedures. Primarily responsible to the Team for minimizing ticklers, exceptions and delinquencies. Primarily responsible to the Team for identifying loan re-grades promptly.


Personal/Professional Development

  • Contribute to the Team by participating in Bank functions and training sessions. Contribute to the Team and community by participating in non-profits and other community endeavors.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Officer I and II:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year university in Business Administration or related field preferred.


Officer III and Senior Officer:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year university in Business Administration or related field required.


Experience:

Officer I:
  • 5+ years of Commercial lending (sales) experience required.

Officer II:
  • 6+ years of Commercial lending (sales) experience required.

Officer III:
  • 5+ years of Commercial lending (sales) experience required.

Senior Officer:
  • 6+ years of Commercial lending (sales) experience required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
