The City of Warren is accepting applications for the position of Code Enforcement Officer Technician. Employees in this classification perform skilled inspection of residences, businesses, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with the City Property Maintenance, Rental Unit and Mobile Home Ordinances. For properties deemed to be out of compliance with those ordinances, will ticket owners and follow up to ensure that recommended changes are made. Will assist with the delegation of work for Code Enforcement Officers as assigned.
Requirements:
• Graduation from a standard high school or G.E.D. equivalent.
o Diploma or official, sealed transcripts REQUIRED with application
• A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a full-time employee in various aspects of inspection related to building, construction, property maintenance or police work, with at least three (3) years' experience in City of Warren Property Maintenance Division.
• Eight (8) years progressively responsible building trades work.
• Knowledge of the City of Warren Code of Ordinance, as well as laws related to the implementation of the Code of Ordinance.
• Passed the International Code Council Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector examination within six months of date of hire.
• Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Michigan.
• Driving record must meet city standards for insurability.
Pay rate: $77,718/year - $86,216/year (After 5 years)
