Position Summary
Join our team as a CMM Programmer and play a key role in ensuring the precision, reliability, and quality of the products we manufacture. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of programming advanced coordinate measuring machines, ensuring they deliver consistently accurate results. Your expertise will directly support product excellence, compliance with rigorous quality standards, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do
In this fast-paced and impactful role, you will create, modify, validate, and maintain CMM programs used to inspect production components and calibrate tooling. You'll design and develop specialized fixtures and work-holding solutions, interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, and transform CAD models into reliable measurement strategies. Partnering closely with quality engineering, you'll contribute to gauge R&R studies, capability analyses, correlation efforts, and root-cause investigations that drive measurable improvements. You'll troubleshoot probes, fixtures, programs, and measurement challenges with confidence, while overseeing routine maintenance and monitoring CMM performance to ensure each instrument remains perfectly calibrated. You'll also play a key role in developing team expertise by training technicians and operators on program setup, execution, and best practices.
We'd Love to Hear from Candidates With
• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in CMM programming and dimensional inspection
• Hands-on experience with CMM equipment
• Strong understanding of GD&T per ANSI Y14.5
• Highly self-motivated with excellent project-prioritization skills
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Must possess or be able to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance
A Successful Candidate Also Brings
• Experience with manufacturing quality systems such as NQA-1, AS9100, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485
• Experience programming and operating Zeiss Calypso and associated CMMs
• Experience programming optical CMMs (ViScan preferred)
• CAD modeling experience with Creo or comparable software
Pay
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $80,299 - $133,850. This position is Incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
