Job Summary
The Cloud Solutions Architect IV oversees multiple dimensions of assigned applications and capabilities, including stability, lifecycle management, version control, design and development, and mapping business requirements to capability-oriented technical requirements. The role is responsible for ensuring technology solutions are developed in accordance with the cloud architectural roadmap, guidelines, and standards. This position leads cloud solution architecture from conception through delivery and production, collaborates with business and technology stakeholders, supports secure and observable cloud solutions, and provides technical leadership and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage cloud solution architectures end-to-end from conception through delivery and production.
• Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technology solutions.
• Participate in the design and modeling of cloud architectures for delivery, development, and project support.
• Collaborate with domain architects to develop consensus-based, scalable, and adaptable cloud architectural solutions.
• Collaborate on roadmaps to maintain sufficient architectural runway aligned with information technology priorities and business strategies.
• Promote reuse of services, components, frameworks, and infrastructure as code to reduce costs and improve information flow.
• Support team members in the design and deployment of cloud strategies and solutions.
• Identify opportunities to simplify existing and new architectures, code, and vendor dependencies.
• Build and maintain trusted-advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers within Technology.
• Make recommendations to improve application operational efficiency, enhance program usage, and increase understanding of the program.
• Lead the design of physical and logical components of cloud solution architectures that deliver positive business outcomes.
• Work with Enterprise and Business Solutions Architecture to ensure compliance with architectural principles and patterns.
• Oversee technical analysis and design capabilities.
• Provide feedback regarding potential deviations from or necessary modifications to existing architectural principles and patterns.
• Work with Cyber Security to understand network, application, and data security requirements.
• Work with stakeholders to understand non-functional requirements that may materially impact solution architecture.
• Work with software delivery teams to ensure cloud solutions are observable and secure by design.
• Work with business stakeholders and site reliability teams to create service level objectives and agreements.
• Provide consultation on complex projects.
• Coach and mentor junior-level architects.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and seven (7) years of enterprise, solutions, and/or technical architecture-related experience.
• Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of enterprise, solutions, and/or technical architecture-related experience.
• Experience with N-tier architectures and complex design architectures.
• Experience with Agile methods.
• Experience with technical, application, and information architecture delivery techniques and methodologies.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity design techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and cloud-native serverless architectures, including AWS.
• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
• Advanced understanding and ability to use design patterns to translate business requirements into technical strategies.
• Awareness and ability to document designs using internal and external notation standards, including Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
• Knowledge of containers and container orchestration, including Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, telemetry, and observability frameworks and platforms, including OpenTelemetry and Dynatrace.
• Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce.
• Understanding of enterprise technologies such as middleware, .NET, Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), and Oracle.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure and platforms.
• Knowledge of OpenShift.
• Experience with additional observability platforms and technologies.
Certifications
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect Certification.
