Closeout Specialist (0009)

Responsibilities and Duties

OCT is seeking experienced Acquisition Professionals (Closeout Specialists) with at least 5 years of Contract Specialist or Contracting and Procurement experience, with a focus on closeout activities. Experience within the 1102 Contracting and Procurement Series is preferred, and qualified backgrounds may include federal service or institutional support contractor roles supporting federal agencies.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated expertise in closing out all contract types. Responsibilities include managing closeout activities for contracts, cooperative agreements, and grants in full compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Code of Federal Regulations (2 CFR), and individual agency closeout policies and procedures.

Key duties include:
  • Reconciling award files in the client's Phoenix Financial System.
  • Uploading designated files into the Agency's Secure Image and Storage Tracking System.
  • Preparing closeout documentation (e.g., checklists, release of claims).
  • Identifying expired files for destruction.
  • Providing feedback to support process improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of federal contract closeout experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • Must have experience with closing both simple and complex contract types (i.e., FFP, LH, Cost-types)
  • Must be able to obtain or retain a Public Trust clearance. The investigation will involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check
  • Work will primarily be performed remotely with a projected two days per week at OCT's corporate office in Tyson's Corner, VA. The individual, however, must be willing to travel to the client's headquarters in Washington D.C. as needed.

Salary Range: $78,000-85,000 yearly commensurate with experience, education, etc.
