Job Summary
The Cancer and Well-being Research Program (CARE) at Brigham and Women's Hospital is
recruiting a full-time Clinical Research Program Manager to join its multidisciplinary team. The
program manager will work closely with the principal investigator in collaboration with a
diverse group of researchers (oncologists, palliative care clinicians, psychiatrists, psychologists)
to oversee the day-to-day administration of program activities. The program manager will
contribute to the development of study protocols and procedures, and the preparation and
submission of research manuscripts, abstracts, and grant applications. The program manager
will be responsible for hiring and onboarding new staff as well as maintaining a working
knowledge of clinical research conduct to support study-related activities and initiatives across
the program locally and nationally.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Collaborate with the principal investigator to oversee all laboratory projects
• Work closely with the principal investigator on grant submissions, including summarizing
grant instructions and required elements, assisting with writing research proposals,
developing templates for required documents, and collecting required documentation
from investigators and study sites
• Assist with manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals, including performing
literature reviews, outlining study methods and findings, and editing manuscripts prior to
submission
• Assist with abstract and presentation submissions for local, regional, national, and
international conferences
• Assist with writing protocols for CARE studies, including Institutional Review Board
applications and informed consent documents, as well as defining project timelines and
maintaining study amendments and continuing reviews
• Collaborate with the principal investigator to develop standard operating procedures and
templates to improve efficiency and consistency across all studies
• Oversee all Institutional Review Board communications regarding projects
• Monitor progression of clinical trials against project milestones
• Oversee all study procedures, compliance, and communication with all collaborating
institutions for multi-site trials
• Oversee all data collection in collaboration with clinical research coordinators for accuracy
and compliance
• Oversee internal and external audits and coordinate all processes with Data Safety and
Monitoring Boards for all clinical trials
• Act as the point of contact for CARE members to provide direction and guidance regarding
day-to-day issues and activities as well as interpretation of hospital and regulatory policies
• Maintain centralized training records for all research staff
• Maintain and update CARE email distribution lists and manage the CARE meeting
schedule, including presentations, journal clubs, and guest speakers
• Work with the Development Office to support activities for CARE donors, including Patient
Advisory Councils
• Oversee program website to ensure content is current and accurate; manage CARE study
email accounts and respond to inquiries; submit study team reimbursements
