Position Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist drives safe, compliant, high-quality medication management across Empower's 503A/503B operations, ensuring patient outcomes and regulatory excellence. This role owns verification, clinical review, and process optimization, leveraging AI as a force multiplier for accuracy, efficiency, and insight generation. Operating in a hyper-growth environment, the Clinical Pharmacist applies strategic thinking, execution rigor, and learning agility to continuously improve workflows, ensure compliance, and elevate standards.
Responsibilities: Clinical Operations - Medication Verification: Ensure accurate, compliant verification of prescriptions, leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance precision, reduce errors, and maintain regulatory adherence across high-volume compounding workflows.
- Clinical Review: Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations of prescriptions, identifying risks, contraindications, and optimization opportunities while ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and Empower's quality expectations.
- Therapy Optimization: Recommend evidence-based therapy adjustments, collaborating with providers to improve patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with 503A and 503B regulatory requirements.
Quality & Compliance - Regulatory Adherence: Maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and internal quality standards, ensuring all activities meet rigorous regulatory expectations within a highly controlled pharmacy environment.
- Audit Readiness: Support audit preparation and execution, ensuring documentation accuracy, process consistency, and readiness for inspections within a rapidly scaling operational environment.
- Error Prevention: Identify, analyze, and mitigate medication-related risks, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements to strengthen safety and quality outcomes.
Process Optimization - Workflow Efficiency: Optimize pharmacy workflows using data and AI-driven insights to increase throughput, reduce variability, and enhance operational performance.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage clinical systems and AI tools to improve decision-making, streamline processes, and enhance overall pharmacy efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing process enhancements, applying structured problem-solving methodologies to improve quality, speed, and scalability.
Knowledge and Skills: - Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy and compounding pharmacy practices.
- Proficiency leveraging AI tools for clinical decision support optimization.
- Deep understanding of regulatory standards including 503A and 503B.
- Advanced problem solving with data driven decision making capabilities.
Experience and Qualifications: - Doctor of Pharmacy degree from accredited institution required.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with state board.
- Experience in compounding or regulated pharmacy environment preferred strongly.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in high growth environments.
