Full Job Description
City of Hope is seeking a versatile and dedicated Clinical Oncology Nurse to join our Float Pool department, specializing in cancer treatment. As a Float Pool Specialist, you will be an essential part of our team, providing skilled care across (2) two outpatient infusion clinics. Your adaptability and commitment to delivering exceptional care will make a significant impact on our patient's cancer journey. This opportunity is full-time, 10-hour shifts (4 per week). Monday - Friday.

As a successful candidate you will:
  • Have the flexibility to move between our Upland and Corona outpatient infusion clinics, ensuring that all patients receive top-quality care in line with City of Hope's high standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in various clinical settings, offering your expertise in cancer treatment and nursing care.
  • Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and iron and blood products, adapting to each clinic's specific needs.
  • Monitor patients closely, assess their conditions, and provide timely interventions and support as required.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies, tailoring information to individual needs.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation to ensure seamless continuity of care between clinics.


Your qualifications should include:
  • If hired before May 1, 2012: Graduate from nursing school with a diploma, Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing. If hired after May 1, 2012, Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Nursing is required or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma. Associates degree in nurisng and currently enrolled in a BSN program ( Must obtain BSN withing two years of hire or transfer)
  • Current California RN license
  • A minimum of (3) three years related experience; oncology background is necessary.
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathic demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
