Our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team partners with customers to create opportunities for the future by providing outsourced accounting, controllership, and CFO-level advisory services that empower decision-making through rigorous analysis of financial and operational data.

The CAAS Manager serves as the lead accounting and operational advisory for manufacturing and distribution customers, with a strong emphasis on NetSuite - powered environments. This role combines controllership, accounting operations, inventory and cost accounting oversight, process improvement, and NetSuite optimization to help customers improve financial visibility and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience with accounting operations, financial reporting, customer relationship management, and business process improvement, with familiarity in inventory and cost accounting concepts. Excellent leadership, analytical thinking, follow-through, and communication skills are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities
Customer Relationship and Engagement Management

·   Lead recurring accounting and advisory engagements for manufacturing and distribution customers, including oversight of engagement teams, scope, timelines, risks, and deliverable quality, while escalating complex scoping, pricing, proposal, or growth-related matters to engagement leaders.

·   Serve as a key point of contact for day-to-day accounting, finance, operational, and advisory matters, while developing strong relationships with customer leadership, firm contacts, and CAAS engagement teams.

·   Serve as a trusted advisor on NetSuite accounting operations, reporting structures, workflows, system configuration, and process optimization

·   Maintain a practical understanding of each customer’s operations, inventory flows, cost structure, strategic objectives, and engagement economics to provide relevant recommendations and business insights.

·   Partner with customers to maximize NetSuite functionality across financial reporting, inventory, purchasing, costing and operational processes.

·   Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, dashboards, and workflows within NetSuite.

·   Lead internal and external meetings, communicate engagement progress, escalate issues appropriately, and support invoicing and communication with engagement leaders.

·   Use technology, AI, automation tools, and data analytics to improve service delivery, reporting, documentation, and customer outcomes.

·   Identify customer needs, process gaps, and potential service opportunities during engagement delivery, and support engagement leaders with operational context and effort estimates when evaluating next steps.


Inventory and Cost Accounting Support

·   Advise customers on inventory accounting processes, inventory controls, and cost accounting considerations for manufacturing and distribution businesses.

·   Review and analyze inventory reconciliations and rollforwards, reserves, cycle count results, physical inventory procedures, and related financial reporting support.

·   Support cost accounting-related areas such as costing approaches, landed cost allocations, overhead considerations, and cost of goods sold analysis, as applicable to the customer engagement.


Financial Reporting, Process Improvement, and Accounting Advisory

·   Support monthly and annual close processes and financial reporting by reviewing financial statements, workpapers, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

·   Prepare and review recurring and ad hoc financial reports, budget-to-actual analyses, cash flow forecasts, and management reporting packages.

·   Advise customers on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital optimization.

·   Analyze financial, operational, inventory, and KPI trends to identify risks, process improvement opportunities, and practical recommendations that support customer decision-making.

·   Support process improvement, system optimization, implementation, integration, automation, AI, and data analytics initiatives that improve service delivery, reporting, and customer outcomes.


Team Leadership and Development

·   Supervise, coach, mentor, train, and provide developmental feedback to seniors, consultants, and staff assigned to engagements.

·   Promote collaboration, accountability, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within engagement teams.

·   Coordinate work across domestic and overseas resources, when applicable, to support efficient and effective service delivery.


Requirements

·   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

·   6+ years of public accounting and industry experience, preferably a combination of both.

·   Experience serving manufacturing, distribution, or other inventory-intensive businesses.

·   Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial statements, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reporting.

·   Strong project management, communication, relationship-building, and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and shifting priorities.

·   Experience supervising, coaching, training, and reviewing team member work.

·   Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and Copilot capabilities.

·   Experience with NetSuite required.


Preferred Qualifications

·   CPA or CMA certification preferred.

·   Experience with manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, consumer products, or other inventory-intensive businesses.

·   Experience with accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Enterprise, and inventory-focused applications (Fishbowl, Cin7, and Katana).

·   Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital optimization, and other Controller or CFO advisory initiatives.
