Automated Test Engineer (up to 2 days of telework)SummaryWe have an immediate need for an Automated Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of a large system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about software quality, and experienced in developing robust automated test suites. This role will work closely with a cross-functional Agile team of software developers, system engineers, and product owners to validate functional enhancements and support the ongoing modernization of authoring and dissemination tools.
Required- 4+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in test engineering or integration of modern hardware/software systems.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated UI and API tests using Cypress. Automation experience must be specifically described on the resume.
- Proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript for automated test script development.
- Experience testing modern web applications.
- Experience testing RESTful microservices and APIs.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Practical experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience using Git and version control systems.
- Ability to independently design, develop, execute, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test suites.
- Experience analyzing test results, troubleshooting failures, documenting defects, and reporting testing metrics.
- Ability to collaborate with software developers, system engineers, product owners, and DevOps personnel.
- Ability to participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and demos, and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and bug fixes.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional TE or related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
- Shall have familiarity with test engineering or integration of modern hardware/software systems.
- Shall have familiarity with the development and integration of test strategies, plans, traceability matrices, procedures, and reports.
- Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
Desired- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-based architectures and deployments.
- Basic understanding of Docker/containerization and consistent test environments.
- Familiarity with government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
- Experience supporting modernization of authoring, reporting, dissemination, or similar enterprise systems.
*Salary Range: $ 130,000- $200,000
