Are you a detail-oriented claims professional who takes pride in delivering fair, timely, and thorough outcomes for clients and carriers alike? If so, this is the role for you!

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Technician, Liability is a core member of HUB International's claims team. You will manage your own portfolio of liability claims files end-to-end, applying your investigative skills, coverage knowledge, and commitment to service to resolve claims efficiently and accurately. You'll work within a collaborative, structured team environment that values accountability, professional development, and excellence in claims handling.

A Day in the Life
  • Manage an active portfolio of claims files from first notice of loss through to resolution
  • Engage third party adjusters and assist with conducting thorough coverage analysis and damage assessments within your delegated authority limits.
  • Establish and adjust reserves with sound documentation and negotiate settlements within authority limits.
  • Manage loss funds, request payments, and reconcile general ledgers in accordance with financial controls.
  • Drive appropriate settlement outcomes across segments and various lines of business including general liability, directors and officers, abuse and programs.
  • Prepare timely reports for carrier partners.
  • Collaborate with the Claims Manager and insurers, escalating files appropriately within the team's structured framework.
  • Maintain organized, compliant claim files and meet key performance standards including diary compliance and reserve accuracy.


What You Will Bring to Our Team
  • Level 2 General Insurance License
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in liability insurance claims handling.
  • Working knowledge of claims processes, coverage interpretation, and investigation techniques.
  • CIP designation or active pursuit is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Epic claims management system; familiarity with Lloyd's Lineage an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume file portfolio with competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving as a collaborative team player.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and delivering fair outcomes.


Salary Expectations -

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $110,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level.
