OverviewHerzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a
CivilSuperintendent in
Springfield, VA to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Collaborate frequently with project team, client representatives, utility companies, and subcontractors.
- Plan, coordinate, supervise, forecast and assume responsibility for onsite production functions including maintaining schedule, verification of compliance, engineering, budget, equipment needs, material and equipment control.
- Provide technical assistance through interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment as required.
- Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, specifications and standards.
- Coordinates project close out activities in line with project standards and Owner checklist requirements.
- Supervise and ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, environmental compliance, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Construction Management/Civil Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years in civil construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of civil construction (technology, equipment, methods); engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
Pre-Employment Requirements:- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.

- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
