The team specializes in land development with a multidisciplinary approach including civil engineering, environmental services, planning, surveying, and transportation. VHB delivers comprehensive solutions from site assessment and feasibility studies to permitting, design, and construction administration. They focus on sustainable development in residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public infrastructure projects. Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, and designers to develop civil engineering plans and specifications for a wide range of land development and transportation-related projects.
- Contribute to design work in stormwater management, site layout, grading, utility systems, and erosion/sediment control.
- Prepare plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus.
- Conduct fieldwork as needed, including measurements, observations, and photo documentation.
- Perform engineering analyses and assist in preparing supporting calculations and technical documentation.
- Create text and spreadsheet documents, manage project data, and support regulatory submittals and permitting processes.
- Coordinate with local and regional agencies to help secure development approvals.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, industry partners, and local agency representatives.

Qualifications- Min 5+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
- PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- MicroStation experience a plus.
- Experience in Massachusetts land development, site design, or infrastructure planning is highly desirable.
The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $140,000 if located in Watertown, MA. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.
Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
