Full Job Description
Civil Project Engineer to join our Land Division in our Towson, Maryland office.
CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the design and project management of land development projects including site layout, grading, storm drainage systems, stormwater management, sediment & erosion control, and utility design
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate civil engineering plans and construction documents in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Manage and mentor engineering staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of land development plans and deliverables
  • Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies throughout all phases of project development and permitting
  • Conduct due diligence investigations and review zoning ordinances, agency regulations, permitting requirements, and approval processes
  • Prepare and oversee permit applications, agency submissions, and jurisdictional approvals
  • Perform floodplain analysis and hydraulic/hydrologic (H&H) modeling studies as required
  • Perform utility infrastructure and wastewater system design, including layout and coordination of public/private utilities
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure projects remain on time and within scope
  • Assist with project invoicing, budgeting, and contract administration to support accurate and timely client billing
  • Senior-level candidates should possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, oversee County review processes, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including survey, environmental, transportation, and construction professionals to support successful project execution

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PE and Master's preferred but not required
  • 5 to 15 years of experience as referenced above
  • Experience in Maryland market areas (specifically Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Anne Arundel County) preferred
  • Proficiency in recent versions of AutoCAD required- Civil 3D a plus
