Full Job Description
SES Civil and Environmental, LLC is expanding its workforce! We are searching for a proficient Project Engineer to join our growing civil business line. This role entails supporting the Civil Division through various tasks, including engineering analyses, detailed technical writing, permit applications and mentorship and support of teammates. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare written past project descriptions, including photographic documentation, in support of business development.
  • Prepare written project technical approach in support of requests for proposals.
  • Prepare written request for qualifications and work scopes in support of procurement activities.
  • Prepare written preconstruction plans (i.e., Accident Prevention Plans, Quality Control Plans, Environmental Protection Plans, Transportation Plans, etc.)
  • Prepare project product submittals.
  • Supervising accident prevention activities, applicable safety requirements in work methods, and methods for inspecting the work to ensure the safety measures and instructions are being applied.
  • Performing quality control inspections, preparing daily reports, and scheduling and performing three phases of control on definable features of work as defined by contract specifications.
  • Implementing and managing quality control system in accordance with the contract and quality control plan (i.e., USACE Remote Management System and NAVFAC Electronic Construction Management System).
  • Setting up surveying equipment and surveying features to assist with the generation of project model, topography, as-built drawings, etc.
  • Preparing and reviewing project specific documents for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Assisting personnel in the field on various projects and providing input on problem solving.
  • Assisting engineers, project managers, and other project team members with specific design plan and specification requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field of study.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • 7+ years of field experience, however design experience is preferred
  • Experience in Technical Writing and Quality Control Management
  • Familiar with project management tools and software for planning and tracking budget and schedule (i.e., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, etc.)
  • Familiar with construction plans and specifications review for technical and constructability evaluations and assisting with estimating to support proposal preparation and construction activities.
  • Familiar with surveying and construction layout for large earthwork and drainage projects (i.e., roadways, site development, landfills, dams, levees, streams, storm water facilities, etc.)\
  • Ability to perform quantity takeoffs for various types of construction projects and proposals using on-screen and manual take-off tools based on an accurate reading of blueprints, geotechnical reports, requests for proposals, and related documents and transferring data into software for review with others.
  • Ability to review bid package documentation, plans and proposal specifications to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate for request for proposals, request for information, and subcontractor quotes.
  • Understanding the surveying process and having the ability to communicate with surveyors and construction crews on a regular basis.
  • Experience with the Department of Defense and/or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is a plus
  • Being familiar with current industry standards and practices.
  • 10-20% travel is required.
