Full Job Description
The Civil Estimator oversees the construction of multiple projects with annual revenues between $10 million and $25 million. This position is part of our Infrastructure market group, specifically our Civil Sector. The projects associated with this position will include, but not be limited to, the following: heavy civil, site-packages, road, paving, site utilities, etc. The Infrastructure market group will perform work for commercial, heavy civil, industrial, and municipal industries.
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage full estimating cycle in HCSS, Trimble Business Center, On Screen Takeoff, and other software tools.
• Be proficient at self-perform estimates (labor, material, and equipment) for civil and earthwork.
• Prove ability by successfully compiling, creating, and presenting final estimate proposals to customers.
• Develops and maintains healthy internal and external relationships and partners with all stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Oversees the construction of multiple projects with annual revenues between $10 million and $25 million.
• Reviews, corrects, and approves subcontract payment requisitions and vendor billing for the project.
• Creates accurate monthly cost projections and forecasting for projects.
• Provides guidance and leadership to Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers assigned to the project.
• Implements QA/QC procedures for non-conforming work; ensures correction of any non-conforming work.
• Enforces and monitors compliance with LIFE Safe Work Practices with a focus on top (8) risks through completion of Job Site Safety Audit (not DBO2) once a month.
• Monitors and updates the project schedule and schedule logic and/or sequencing as needed.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent work experience.
• 6-10+ years of professional experience in Heavy Civil Construction project management, field supervision, or estimating/pre-construction roles for a Heavy Civil general contractor or subcontractor.
• Strong working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and estimating for construction trades (all disciplines).
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, project management, estimating, and scheduling software programs.
• Solid skills in the areas of math, budgeting, and financial analysis, as well as excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
