Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and preparation of diverse projects including commercial and community developments.
  • Coordinate with various staff members across services like Surveying, Geotechnical, and Traffic Engineering.
  • Perform design calculations and check tasks to prepare comprehensive design packages.
  • Develop feasibility documents, due diligence reports, and zoning studies.
  • Conduct stormwater modeling, cost estimation, and prepare detailed design plans.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure design standards are met.

Civil Engineer, PE

Department: Civil/Municipal

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Toledo, OH

Reporting To: Jeremey Cook

Compensation: $135,000 - $150,000 / year

Description

Due to MSG's continued growth in our Civil/Municipal Division, a new opening is available for a Civil Project Engineer!

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with other licensed engineers assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of commercial, industrial, energy, water/wastewater and community projects throughout the Midwest.
  • Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of services sectors including Surveying, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction, etc.
  • Perform and check various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package.
  • Preparing front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Practical experience in design and plan preparation of site development projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience with industry design standards.
  • Understanding of guidelines and specifications.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading is preferred.
  • Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports is preferred.
  • The ability to engage reviewing agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is a critical part of our process.
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating and coordinating with review agencies.
  • Professional Engineer's license in the state of Ohio. Additional states will be considered as well.
