Full Job Description
GAI Consultants is seeking a creative, team-oriented, and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Orlando office supporting complex land development projects, including complex hospitality and entertainment projects. They will support projects by providing technical judgment, problem-solving, and consistent QA/QC review. The work spans the full lifecycle of site and infrastructure design, including underground utilities, drainage, grading, soil assessments, and waterways. They also contribute to the production of complete, bid-ready construction documents, such as drawings and specifications. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that go beyond traditional development. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, design-driven environments where civil engineering supports unique developments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design of site grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility systems for complex developments, including themed attraction projects
  • Prepare calculations, construction plans, and technical reports supporting permitting and delivery
  • Closely collaborate with architecture, design and interdisciplinary engineering (AD&E) firms to develop integrated, experience-driven solutions
  • Manage multiple projects, schedules, and deliverables with accountability for quality and deadlines
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and resolve design and field challenges, including RFIs and site coordination
  • Participate in site visits to ensure designs are effectively implemented in the field
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team
  • Support proposals and client relationships, including pursuits involving theme park and destination projects

Technical Responsibilities
  • Develops and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Keeps informed of updates to standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Analyzes complex engineering projects to determine design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints.

Project and Task Management
  • Assigns tasks to other technical and non-technical staff.
  • Predominantly plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
  • Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects.

Management Responsibility
  • Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

  • Mentors' direct reports and other engineers.
