Description:JOB SUMMARY:The Civil Engineer will plan, design, and cost track construction and maintenance of oil and gas well pads and infrastructure such as roads, bridges, dams, water supply systems, and other public works. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles, experience with CAD, and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Plan and design civil engineering projects in accordance with company requirements and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare engineering calculations, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings).
- Assist in construction projects to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including drilling, completions, production, water transfer, and local governing bodies.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budget constraints.
- Monitor environmental, safety, and sustainability aspects of engineering projects.
- Review and approve project deliverables and resolve engineering issues as they arise.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a related field (Master's preferred) or extensive experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:- Experience with oil and gas well pad construction and infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities, etc.).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal engineering codes and standards.
- Familiarity with GIS, BIM, or project management tools (Primavera, MS Project)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment.
TRAVEL:Occasional travel is expected for this position.
LICENSING AND VEHICLE OPERATION REQUIREMENTS:The individual in this position is required to maintain an active and valid driver's license in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulatory requirements. This position also involves the operation of a company vehicle for work-related travel and field operations; therefore, the individual must meet all company-established driving eligibility standards, maintain a driving record that satisfies insurer and company requirements, and adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and traffic regulations.
