Civil Engineer
Cherokee Strategic Solutions, LLC (CSS) is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base. The Civil Engineer provides planning, design, programming, cost-estimating, field-investigation, and construction-support services for facility, infrastructure, utility, renovation, and new-construction projects.
A Government contract requires that this position be filled by a person with legal United States residency and work authorization status. The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain installation and restricted-area access, including completion of required background checks and training.

Responsibilities Include:
Perform planning and design support for new construction, renovation, improvement, utility, and real-property facility projects.
Develop, review, and provide technical recommendations on design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, specifications, drawings, and Statements of Work.
Support substantial and multi-phase projects, including complex facilities, utility systems, and non-standard engineering solutions.
Conduct technical reviews of project submittals, design packages, Requests for Information, and change-order packages.
Provide written technical comments and recommendations to support Government technical evaluations and source-selection activities; Government personnel retain all decision authority.
Develop Government cost estimates using approved cost-estimating tools.
Support project programming, budgeting, AFCAMP funding advocacy, Fiscal Law compliance, and long-range infrastructure prioritization.
Conduct field surveys, facility-condition assessments, capability assessments, and constructability reviews.
Collect, validate, and analyze technical data using CADD, GIS, BIM, and other Government-approved tools.
Participate in design charrettes and coordinate with engineers, architects, planners, contracting personnel, tenant organizations, and external construction agents.
Provide timely technical recommendations on project requirements, risks, constructability, scope, and engineering issues.
Apply federal, state, local, Department of the Air Force, health, safety, and environmental requirements throughout project development and execution.
Prepare monthly project-status information for the required Project Status Report.
Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
At least five years of relevant civil engineering experience.
Structural engineering experience is desired but not required.
Professional knowledge of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
Familiarity with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
Knowledge of applicable engineering and construction standards, contracting regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental laws.
Experience with program planning, budgeting cycles, cost estimating, and financial-control systems.
Ability to prepare complete project documentation, including preliminary sketches, construction drawings, specifications, and Statements of Work.
Ability to plan, conduct, document, and analyze site and facility surveys and inspections.
Strong written, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
