Civil Construction Project Manager

Job Summary

Moore Industries is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of industrial civil construction projects.

The Civil Project Manager is responsible for the overall performance of assigned projects, including safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity, client relationships, subcontractor management, and financial results. This position works closely with project superintendents and field leadership to plan the work, manage resources, monitor production, identify risks, and ensure projects are executed successfully from preconstruction through closeout.

Our civil projects include a combination of self-perform and subcontracted scopes such as structural concrete, foundations, site development, earthwork, underground utilities, paving, drainage, and other heavy civil construction within industrial facilities.

This role is ideal for a construction professional who understands how work gets built in the field, takes ownership of project outcomes, and enjoys working collaboratively with field teams, clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage industrial civil construction projects from preconstruction and mobilization through execution and closeout.
  • Lead project planning in collaboration with superintendents and field leadership, including sequencing, manpower, equipment, material, subcontractor, and logistical requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, commitments, change management, billing, and overall financial performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules and short-term planning requirements.
  • Monitor field productivity and production against project budgets and estimates, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate Moore self-perform operations, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other project partners.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and other construction documents to identify requirements, risks, and opportunities.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services necessary to support project execution.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, project documentation, and client correspondence.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders regarding schedule, progress, cost, changes, and other project requirements.
  • Partner with project superintendents to proactively resolve field challenges and maintain efficient project execution.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, quality requirements, and Moore Industries' standards.
  • Promote and support Moore Industries' safety culture and ensure project teams comply with company and client safety requirements.
  • Participate in project turnover from estimating and preconstruction to ensure a thorough understanding of scope, estimate assumptions, risks, and execution strategy.
  • Lead project closeout, including punch list completion, documentation, final billing, and lessons learned.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience, preferably within industrial, heavy civil, or self-perform civil construction.
  • Experience managing civil scopes such as structural concrete, foundations, earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, paving, or site development preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, field operations, scheduling, cost control, and project financial management.
  • Experience working with self-perform construction crews is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with superintendents and field leadership to plan and execute work.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience working within industrial environments is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
