Full Job Description
Position: Chief of Staff

Location: Greater Sacramento Area

Reports to: Global Executive Pastor

FLSA Status: Exempt, Ministerial Exception

Job Status: Full-time

The Chief of Staff is responsible for the overall leadership of the campus. Providing spiritual leadership, developing staff, and caring for the congregation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional communication skills, and a heart for nurturing and developing individuals within the church community.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership:
  • Lead every aspect of the campus, steering it towards living out Bayside's mission of Reach Wide, Teach Deep, and Unleashing Compassion.
  • Inspire and empower our leadership team to unleash their potential.
  • Ensure staffing, facilities, and programs are effectively aligned to meet the goals of pastoral care and discipleship occurring through small group and mid-week ministries.

Staff Development:
  • Recruit, mentor, train, and encourage staff and volunteers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence among our church team.

Stewardship:
  • Celebrate wins, learn from challenges, and keep our team culture strong.
  • Lead by example in stewarding our resources wisely and generously.
  • Encourage and empower our congregation to live lives of generosity and purpose.
  • Oversee the management of finances, facilities, and other church resources.
  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in all stewardship efforts.

Congregation Care:
  • Be a rock for our church family, offering care, support, and guidance in times of need.
  • Provide pastoral counseling, prayer, and emotional support to individuals and families.

Communication:
  • Be one of the public faces for the campus by hosting services regularly and preaching occasionally.
  • Deliver messages that resonate with hearts and minds, rooted in scripture and love- make us laugh, cry, and think deeply.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging sermons for weekly services, special events, and other groups/gatherings.
  • Connect with people of all ages and backgrounds through your powerful preaching.

  • Previous experience in a lead ministry role with public speaking responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
