Job Duties

To provide leadership and direction for the development of patient care programs, policies and procedures describing how patients' needs for nursing care are assessed, evaluated and met; to develop and implement the institute's plans for providing nursing care to patients; to participate with administrative and clinical leaders in Institute decision-making structures and processes; to develop and approve nursing standards of care and practice as well as programs designed to measure, assess and improve outcomes of nursing care; to promote an environment that fosters mutual respect and ongoing learning and supports patient recovery.

Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
. Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in a compact state required.
• Extensive experience in professional nursing administration with demonstrated executive leadership ability.
• Considerable direct care experience in mental health nursing required.

Additional Considerations
• Master's degree and/or doctorate degree in psychiatric mental health nursing, or nursing administration preferred.
