Title:
Chief Engineer (APMSE)

The Chief Engineer (APMSE) serves as the senior technical authority supporting the integration, sustainment, and modernization of Counter Uncrewed Systems (CuXS). This role leads technical execution across hardware, software, and firmware integration activities, ensuring engineering documentation and work products align with Government requirements and operational priorities. The Chief Engineer advises program leadership on technical risk, engineering tradeoffs, and execution priorities while coordinating across Government-Industry teams. This position is central to enabling rapid adaptation of CuXS solutions under the oLSI model and ensuring technical rigor across the program lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead technical planning and execution for CuXS system integration and engineering support across O&M, PROC, and RDT&E efforts.
  • Direct development, review, and delivery of key engineering documentation (e.g., integration documentation, technical analyses, and technical reports) supporting program objectives.
  • Oversee engineering change development and incorporation supporting system improvements, deficiency corrections, and logistics support improvements.
  • Coordinate engineering investigations, failure mode identification, and corrective action recommendations for fielded systems.
  • Ensure technical data is properly reviewed, maintained, and updated to reflect approved changes to system configuration and operation.
  • Provide technical leadership across stakeholders, including coordination of engineering priorities, deliverables, and risk mitigations.
  • Ensure technical outputs are compatible with Government IT environments and appropriate classification handling requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Clearance & Citizenship: Active/Current Secret, with eligibility to obtain Top Secret. U.S. citizenship required.

Education & Experience: Master's in Engineering or an Engineering/STEM Discipline & 8+ years of experience, OR Bachelor's in Engineering or an Engineering/STEM Discipline & 12+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting system integration under an oLSI or Government-led integration model.
  • Experience developing and reviewing engineering change documentation and integration drawings.
  • Familiarity with system safety, failure analysis, and corrective action programs.
  • Experience supporting fielded systems and operational stakeholders.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.

Compensation: $139,000-$209,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
