Position OverviewAs a
Chief Construction Manager, you will provide executive-level leadership and oversight for construction operations across multiple hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role serves as the senior field operations leader responsible for ensuring consistent execution, workforce productivity, quality performance, safety excellence, resource utilization, and operational alignment throughout the organization.
You will lead Construction Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, and other field leadership personnel while partnering closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, Scheduling, Project Controls, Procurement, Safety, QA/QC, and executive leadership teams to successfully execute major programs.
Success requires exceptional construction expertise, leadership capabilities, workforce development skills, customer relationship management, and the ability to drive operational excellence across large-scale, fast-paced construction environments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational leadership for multiple hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Establish field execution standards, construction best practices, workforce strategies, and operational expectations across active projects.
- Direct Construction Managers and field leadership teams responsible for civil, utility, concrete, power, telecommunications, and mission-critical construction activities.
- Ensure projects maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Optimize workforce utilization, equipment deployment, and field operations to support efficient project execution.
- Support project pursuits, preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, and operational strategy development.
What You'll Do- Lead and oversee Construction Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and field supervision personnel across multiple projects.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture while ensuring all company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements are met.
- Establish operational priorities and execution strategies that support project profitability, schedule performance, workforce effectiveness, and quality expectations.
- Partner with Project Managers and Project Directors to align field execution strategies with project schedules, budgets, and contractual requirements.
- Review production schedules, work-in-progress reporting, labor productivity metrics, equipment utilization, and field performance trends.
- Implement corrective actions when operational, financial, schedule, or workforce performance issues arise.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with labor organizations, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, developers, and other project stakeholders.
- Support staffing strategies and workforce planning initiatives across multiple project locations.
- Assist project teams with construction planning, material management, procurement coordination, subcontractor oversight, and resource deployment.
- Participate in estimate reviews, bid planning, constructability reviews, and project pursuit activities by providing execution expertise and operational insight.
- Ensure proper management of as-built documentation, turnover packages, commissioning support requirements, and project closeout activities.
- Facilitate operational reviews, leadership meetings, workforce planning discussions, and project performance reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety performance, construction productivity, workforce development, quality outcomes, and operational consistency.
Leadership Responsibilities- Provide direct leadership and mentorship to Construction Managers and senior field supervision personnel.
- Hold field leadership teams accountable for safety, productivity, quality, execution, workforce development, and project performance.
- Support hiring, workforce development, succession planning, retention efforts, and leadership training initiatives.
- Conduct operational reviews and performance discussions with field leadership teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead organizational efforts focused on developing future Superintendents, Construction Managers, and Operations leaders.

What It Takes- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive construction experience, including significant leadership responsibility managing large-scale construction operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading construction operations on hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, EPC projects, power infrastructure, utility projects, heavy civil programs, industrial facilities, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success managing Construction Managers, Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, subcontractors, and large field workforces.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training required.
- Fully qualified construction professional with extensive field execution experience.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, workforce planning, equipment management, subcontractor coordination, project controls, procurement, quality management, and contract execution.
- Experience reviewing production reporting, labor productivity, schedule performance, work-in-progress reporting, and field financial performance.
- Ability to partner effectively with Project Managers, Project Directors, Estimators, Schedulers, Project Controls professionals, Procurement teams, and executive leadership.
- Experience with union labor environments and labor relations preferred.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, InEight, HCSS, or similar systems.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, coaching, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% and support long-term onsite project assignments throughout North America as required. Travel may include extended durations based on project assignments and business needs.
