Role Overview

The Chief Architect, North America P&C will shape the long-term technology strategy that enables our business to grow faster, operate smarter, and innovate confidently.

Partnering with business and technology leaders across North America P&C, this role will define the enterprise capabilities, platforms, and architectural direction that support the future of the organization. The scope spans enterprise architecture, AI, data, digital experiences, integrations, core insurance platforms, and cloud technologies.

This leader will influence executive decisions, establish enterprise architecture standards, and translate business strategy into technology investments that drive measurable value while maintaining simplicity, scalability, security, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Shape Technology Strategy
  • Develop and evolve the enterprise architecture strategy supporting North America P&C's long-term business objectives.
  • Translate business strategy into enterprise capability roadmaps that guide investment decisions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities where technology can create competitive advantage.


Lead Enterprise Transformation
  • Partner across underwriting, claims, operations, finance, distribution, and corporate functions to modernize business capabilities.
  • Drive transformation across AI, enterprise data, digital experiences, APIs and integrations, core insurance platforms, and cloud.
  • Ensure technology investments support profitable growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience.


Define Enterprise Architecture
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, target-state reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
  • Guide strategic platform selection and major technology investments.
  • Promote reusable capabilities and common patterns while reducing technical debt and increasing speed of delivery.


Advance AI, Data & Digital Capabilities
  • Develop enterprise strategies for AI adoption, intelligent automation, analytics, and data-driven decision making.
  • Champion modern data architecture and governance practices.
  • Define integration strategies that enable seamless connectivity across platforms.

Influence & Lead
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and technology leaders.
  • Provide architectural leadership for major strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Foster collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and business teams.
  • Mentor architects and technology leaders while building a culture of innovation and shared accountability.


What You Bring
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in IT architecture, including enterprise architecture and application integration.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience.
  • Strong experience translating business strategy into enterprise technology roadmaps and architecture.
  • Broad knowledge across applications, cloud, data, integrations, security, digital platforms, and core technology.
  • Experience influencing senior executives and guiding complex enterprise technology decisions.
  • Strong understanding of modern ways of working, including cross-functional teams, agile execution, and product orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships across business and technology organizations.
  • Knowledge of insurance business processes and technology strongly preferred.


Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Pay Transparency

The pay range for this position is $196,700 - $433,800, which includes geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range TMHCC, in good faith, believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The hired applicant will be offered pay within the entire range based on the candidate's geographic location, qualifications, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
