Full Job Description
A career as a Chief Advisor in the Prudential Standards and Oversight Office at National Bank means playing a central role in strengthening the Bank's prudential risk governance, regulatory engagement, and culture of accountability. In this role, you will help ensure that OSFI prudential expectations are interpreted clearly, embedded consistently, and supported by strong oversight, effective challenge, and high-quality documentation.

As part of an independent second-line function, you will contribute to the design and execution of a prudential regulatory oversight program that supports sound governance, financial resilience, and proactive regulatory risk management across the Bank.

Your role

  • Coordinate OSFI regulatory reviews, supervisory meetings, information requests, and submissions end-to-end, ensuring that responses are timely, complete, consistent, and well supported.
  • Review the quality of prudential regulatory documentation, self-assessments, remediation plans, closure packages, and executive materials before escalation or submission.
  • Support the interpretation of OSFI prudential guidelines and regulatory expectations, helping business and risk partners translate requirements into practical governance practices and supporting evidence.
  • Lead key activities within the prudential self-assessment program, including planning, evidence standards, quality assurance, issue management, approvals, and reporting.
  • Oversee and monitor regulatory action plans and recommendations, clarify accountabilities, track progress, assess closure readiness, and escalate emerging risks or delays when required.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, reports, and insights for senior management and governance committees while contributing to regulatory horizon scanning, training initiatives, and best practice implementation.

Your team

The Prudential Standards and Oversight Office (PSO) is a high-impact team within Risk Management. The team acts as a trusted partner supporting the Bank's sustainable growth and financial resilience by strengthening regulatory governance, coordinating regulatory engagement, and promoting disciplined oversight of prudential requirements.

As part of this team, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders, risk partners, business lines, and subject matter experts across the organization. The team is recognized for its collaborative approach, analytical rigor, and ability to transform complex regulatory expectations into practical governance outcomes. We strive to offer maximum flexibility to support your quality of life through a hybrid work environment and adaptable work arrangements.

Our personalized training programs, based on learning through experience, help you master your role and develop new areas of expertise. Tools such as the Data Academy, language training programs, the Harvard Learning Center, as well as coaching and mentoring opportunities, are available to you at all times.

Prerequisites

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and regulatory deliverables.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or presenting materials for senior management, governance committees, regulators, or audit functions.
