Job Title: Product Development Chemist - Flooring Coatings Expert

Location:Cheswick, PA, USA

Remote Work: Not Allowed

Salary: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 (Target: $95,000.00)

Bonus:10.00%

Required Education: M.D.

Required Experience: 4-6 Years

Travel: Up to 25%

Description: As the Flooring Product Development Chemist at PPG, you'll drive innovation in our Protective and Marine Coatings (PMC) business. Take charge of new product development, maintain the existing portfolio, and contribute to global and regional technology segments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow and develop experimental procedures for new product development and performance testing.
  • Generate reliable data, contribute to experiment design, and lead independent and collaborative projects.
  • Provide innovative technical solutions and coordinate technical activities for new projects.
  • Consult with internal teams, field service personnel, and gather input from customers and sales.
  • Ensure compliance with PPG policies, EH&S, and governmental regulations.

Qualifications:
  • MS in Chemistry or Polymer Science with 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of epoxy, vinyl ester, polyurethane, polyurea, and polyaspartics formulating principles recommended.
  • Drive continuous improvement, embrace teamwork, and accept/deliver meaningful feedback.
  • Ability to search and interpret literature, stay aware of competitor technology, and intellectual property.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
